Arbutin: In mature melanocytes, depending on the dose, it slows down the activity of tyrosinase. It also prevents the growth of melanosomes.
Retinol: Retinoids, which are derivatives of vitamin A, are used to treat various pigmentation disorders, such as melasma and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. They inhibit tyrosinase activity and cause the dispersion of epidermal melanin.
Retinoids can also prevent the formation of pigments in keratinocytes and can accelerate pigment loss by speeding up the aging of the skin's middle layers.
Long-term use of retinoids increases the density of the corneal layer and decreases the amount of melanin.
